Public Safety Officer - Sikeston Department of Public Safety
Sikeston Department of Public Safety is currently looking for motivated individuals that are looking for a career in Public Safety. We have several different divisions that allows officers several advancement opportunities. At Sikeston DPS we not only are police officers but we staff fire fighters as well. All fire fighter training is conducted in-house and each employee is required to obtain both their Missouri POST Class A license as well as Missouri Fire Fighter 1 and 2 certification as well.
TYPE: Full Time
SALARY: Starting Salary $46,073. Bonuses offered to Lateral Applicants. Benefits include: 80% employer paid health insurance for employee and dependents, one week of vacation after 6 months of employment, 14 paid holidays a year, uniform allowance, and 100% employer paid LAGERS retirement..
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess working knowledge of written and spoken English; must be able to successfully complete state requirements for Basic Police Certification and Firefighter I Certification; must possess valid state motor vehicle operators license. Must possess good interpersonal skills; shall have and maintain a positive attitude and a high level of initiative. Must successfully complete written exam and oral interview, physical agility test, psychological exam, drug screen, intensive background checks and drug/alcohol screening.
