Chief of Police - City of Linn Creek

The City of Linn Creek, Missouri, a community of less than 300 people in the Lake of the Ozarks, is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for Chief of Police. This is the top administrative position for the Police Department, and the Chief of Police is responsible to the Mayor and/or the Board of Aldermen. The Chief position requires the ability to plan, control, train, and budget utilizing humanistic, technical, and conceptual skills as well as maintain co-operation, communication, and a good working relationship with other city departments. This is a full time, salaried position with competitive benefits.

SALARY:  Salary is determined based on experience, length of service and other factors..

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum Qualification Requirements: - Be a citizen of the United States - Not less than five years of administrative or command experience as a fulltime paid Law Enforcement Officer - At least high school graduate - Must possess a Missouri P.O.S.T. Certification - Possess and maintain a valid MO Motor Vehicle Operator’s license - Must pass a background investigation and drug test Additional Preferences & Requirements: - Must reside no farther than 15 miles from the City of Linn Creek or be willing to relocate - Knowledge of federal, state, and city laws are necessary to provide police services without violation of people’s rights and causing undue liability by enforcing city ordinances - Ability to prepare annual budget, control spending, and authorize expenditure utilizing humanistic, technical, and conceptual skills - Demonstrate an understanding of current police records reporting procedures - Ability to use standard office computer software (including Microsoft Office)
