Police Officer
The University of Missouri-Kansas City Police Department is a full functioning agency located in the Kansas City Metro with a campus population of over 16000 students and 1500 Faculty and Staff members. The agency operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
Police Officers will be assigned to one of the three shifts (days, evenings or nights). The department is currently looking into going to 12 hour shifts with every other weekend off at this time. Officers are issued all necessary uniforms and equipment to complete their job functions, this includes duty weapon, body armor with option for outer carrier, leather gear, and other equipment as issued (footwear is the exception).
Officers will have the option to put in for specialized units if an opening becomes available. All officers are CIT, CPR, and AED certified at the department expense. Training is provided by the department to meet all POST requirements for the yearly mandates.

Salary
Starting salary is $24.42 per hour ($50,793.60 yearly) without overtime or holiday pay. A $0.70 shift differential for evenings and overnights.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
A valid state issued operator’s license
Missouri POST certification is required prior to start date
Strong, verbal communication skills
