Chief of Police
The City of Clever is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chief of Police for the City of Clever Police Department.
The Chief performs complex professional and difficult administrative work planning and directing the activities and programs of the Police Department; does related work as required. Under the general direction and supervision of the Board of Aldermen, the Chief plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates all activities of the Clever Police Department.

This position offers a competitive compensation/benefits package with a starting salary of $54,000-$58,000 based on experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications – United States Citizen, valid Missouri Driver License, a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, valid Missouri POST A certification, no consumption of unlawful substances within 10 years of application date, no current/active orders of protection, no convictions of any violent crime.
Preferred Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Police Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field. Associate degree plus 10 years work experience in law enforcement with 5+ years in a command staff role (or) 15+ years of service in law enforcement with continual progressing roles in leadership. Additional: Master’s degree and graduation from the FBI Academy or similar program are preferred.
