Over what has now become a rather long career, I have seen many changes. Thanks to technology we now have in-car video cameras, tasers, mobile data terminals, GPS, and many different generations of emergency vehicle equipment. The one thing that has remained constant all these years is the Missouri Peace Officers Association. Over time, the association has offered a wider range of services to our members, but the basic concept of being a resource for all people involved in Missouri law enforcement has remained the same.

I encourage each of you to become involved in the activities of the association. If you are looking for training we are a POST Approved Provider. Are you interested in specific legislation? We can help. Do you want coverage to assist with legal costs? We can help there too. As a bonus, Law Enforcement provides timely information for all members and is published four times per year. As your president, I ask each of you to recruit just one other person to join our association. I believe they will agree that it is a good bargain and an excellent opportunity.

One last thought. For years I have told my officers that if they can't remember the "book answer" to just "do the right thing". It is amazing how those four words can provide the answer to so many problems, on and off duty.
