Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist - FEMA

FEMA is seeking a talented and experienced Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist. In this role, you will provide oversight for a staff that performs work involved in managing and coordinating with other entities the recovery from intentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters, emergencies, hazards, or incidents. The position is located in Winchester, Virginia and starts at a salary of $131,767 (GS-15). Typical assignments include: • Providing coordination and assistance to major activities to ensure the capability to continue essential functions during and recovery from any event, incident or disaster. • Assuring that developed guidance is in accordance with The National Disaster Recovery Framework that is consistent with the vision set forth in the Presidential Policy Directive (PPD), National Preparedness, which directs FEMA to work with interagency partners to publish a recovery framework. • Developing and issuing emergency management recovery policies and plans, procedures, and risk assessment to include coordination with voluntary organization partners to fulfill requests from declared States in a timely and effective manner. • Providing oversight of work that includes resolving a broad range of issues concerning the application of any of FEMA’s enabling statutes, pertinent regulations, and/or general laws affecting the operation of the Federal government including but not limited to: o Individual Assistance, which provides or coordinates emergency housing, financial assistance, and unemployment assistance for individuals, families, farmers and businesses o Public Assistance, which helps states, local communities and certain nonprofit groups restore and rebuild public systems and facilities, as well as with debris removal and emergency protective measures o Federal Coordinating Officer Program o Emergency and disaster declaration processing o National Response Plan Emergency Support Functions # 14 (Long-Term Community Recovery)
