Patrol Officer - Kirkwood Police Department

JOB OPENING / CITY OF KIRKWOOD PATROL OFFICER POLICE DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs uniformed patrol work involving traffic and crime control • Investigates criminal activity • Enforcement of laws and ordinances • Protection of life and property • Gives presentations to groups and individuals on subject matter related to job tasks and functions

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  STARTING SALARY: $70,111 - $87,694 ($65,379 for Police Academy Trainee).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  • Strong communication skills • Ability to act effectively in emergency and non-emergency situations • Must be a U.S. citizen • No felony or serious misdemeanor convictions • Possess a Missouri Class A Peace Officer License (or after being hired, must successfully complete the course of study at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy and graduate with a Missouri Class A Peace Officer License by 21st birthday. Must have graduated from Academy by July 15, 2024) • Excellent physical and mental condition • Must be 21 years of age on or before the date of appointment.
