Police Officer - University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety

The University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety is staffed with 19 full-time police officers. Our highly trained officers are all commissioned by the State of Missouri as well as the City of Warrensburg. They are on duty at all times to ensure the safety and security of the UCM campus community.

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  Starting salary is $18.00 per hour. Lateral pay incentives may be possible for individuals with prior law enforcement experience and are currently POST certified and in good standing. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes at UCM. .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants must have completed a minimum of 80 college credit hours and possess the desire to complete their undergraduate degree. Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Police background check, Criminal History check, Fingerprinting, Missouri driver license required-Must obtain and maintain Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) license as mandated by state law. Must attend and successfully pass the basic Police Academy as prescribed by Missouri Department of Public Safety for state police officers. Minimum 21 years of age at time of appointment.
