Detective - Perryville, MO Police Department

The Perryville Police Department is accepting applications for employment for the position of Detective. The Detective is responsible for criminal investigative work, crime scene preservation, and evidence management. This position also requires effective communication skills as well as a vast amount of knowledge in criminal law to include city, state and federal statutes. City residency not required, but all city employees must live within a 60-mile radius of their work site.

TYPE:  Full Time

SALARY:  Starting salary is $20.74 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Position requirements include, but are not limited to: Satisfactory driving record and valid Missouri Driver’s license Must be at least twenty-one years of age High school diploma or equivalent Combination of education and experience in criminal and traffic law enforcement, supplemented by college or university course work in Police Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field Current 480-hour Law Enforcement Academy Training or equivalent Missouri Peace Officer Certification Minimum five years experience in prior police work Have no pending or prior felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions related to domestic violence Free of any visible tattoos on head, face, or neck Applicants will be required to successfully complete each phase of the selection process to be considered for employment. The selection process consists of the following: physical fitness duty assessment, written exam, extensive background investigation, background review and structured oral interview.
