Law Enforcement Officer - Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis

Position Summary: Law Enforcement Officer, St Louis – Day, Evening or Night Shift The Law Enforcement Officer is responsible for the protection of Bank property, valuables, and staff. Maintain security perimeter at building entrances, and perform routine building patrols to: prevent unauthorized entry to premises; provide fire protection; and, deter criminal and other irregular activities. Perform public relations functions by: answering inquiries and providing direction to employees and visitors. Performance Expectations / Duties • Exercise absolute control of access to entrances and secured areas under your control in accordance with current admitting procedures • Effectively screen packages, deliveries, and baggage entering and leaving bank • Demonstrated understanding of all Law Enforcement post equipment, alarms, logs, and devices • Demonstrated ability to properly perform building patrols within established guidelines • Demonstrated ability to sign on the GE Security System and properly respond to alarms received • Demonstrated ability to locate and retrieve keys from the key files • Demonstrated ability to operate Kalatel switcher to select monitors and cameras • Knows location and demonstrates proper use of all emergency equipment • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office tools. Appearance and Behavior Expectations • Demonstrates good public relations skills when dealing with internal and external customers • Adheres to proper uniform, appearance, and equipment standards at all times • Demonstrates good conflict resolution skills and a thorough understanding of the use of force continuum • Always presents a positive professional image when on duty • Follows established procedures and rules of etiquette when using communication devices (telephone, radio, and intercom) Decision Making • Acts strictly within established policies and procedures, with questionable matters referred to the supervisor and/or group leader • Must respond immediately and appropriately to emergency situations of all types • Effectively prioritizes tasks and activity near security posts to maintain control of environment • Functions under general supervision
